Tomorrow will mark one week that we’ve been home from our vacation. I’ve finally gotten around to organizing my pictures and share my thoughts about our resort with you.
We left at the beginning of March for Samana, Dominican Republic with the Angels. We stayed at an all-inclusive resort called the Grand Bahia Principe Cayacoa.
The resort was good. The food was good. I always temper my expectations when I go away to the Caribbean, simply because it’s not home. We all enjoyed eating and came back a few pounds heavier
The service is good. The people are great. Samana is GORGEOUS. If you’ve never been, or travel to Punta Cana (regularly) like we do, I highly recommend you check out Samana. The scenery is breathtaking.
Our resort is changing to an adults only by May of this year. I think that’s probably a good idea given the number of stairs we climbed while away. The resort is built on a cliff / hill. We didn’t mind it. But for someone with a stroller or anyone suffering from handicaps, this wouldn’t be a place for you.
We met a lot of people from the Toronto area (GTA) and made lots of friends. The Angels especially. They didn’t want to leave their friends when it was time to come home. They were seriously crying. They had so much fun!
I think one of the coolest features of this resort is the glass elevator you have to take down to get to the beach. Such an unusual thing.
If you are an activity kind of person, this resort has a ton. There’s everything from zip-lining, whale watching, swimming with sea lions, heading to the National Park with Caves, taking a pony ride up to see a waterfall, etc… Unbelievable things to see and do.
I will most definitely return to Samana. It’s one hell of a beautiful place.
See for yourself.
