We all have a go-to nail polish brand, right? I know OPI and Essie are very popular. I have tons of them in my nail polish box. Too many really.
I thought it might be fun to talk about the nail polish brands I’ve used in the last year and compare them. So here goes…
OPI: I love all the colours available in the OPI brand. I especially love the fun names given to each colour. I would love the job of naming polishes. The nail polish is easy to use and apply. Every nail salon I have gone to has a wall dedicated to this product. There’s so much hype about OPI.
It is good, yes. But I have to admit, the polish goes bad really quickly in the bottle. I have to buy a regular size bottle at $9 and then I never get to use all of the colour because it gets all sticky and gooey after a while. Pain in the ass, really. I end up wasting so much of it. I also find that my nails chip after 1 day of wear.
Essie: Same thing goes for Essie. Great names, and colour options. I tend to have to use multiple coats with this produt to get the right colour on my nails. Again, not a cheap product. I also find the product goes gooey easily when left in the bottle and not used even after I shake it vigorously. My nails chip easily with this product. I get 2 days maximum with this polish before having to do touch ups.
Ardene: This polish is awesome. It dries super fast. It lasts for days. It’s seriously cheap – $3. The bottles are just a little bigger than sample size. The polish lasts me a week before chipping. Sadly, it’s not offered in a lot of colours. I also have no idea what ingredients are actually in the polish itself. I love it just the same.
Joe Fresh: Again, love this brand. You can find lots of colour variety. Their polishes are $3.99 for 1 or 3 for $10. The polish lasts a long time on my nails even when my hands are in water. I would highly recommend it. I’m also noticing they have placed these polishes right near Essie & OPI. This way you can find a similar shade for less money. I like
I also like the L’Oreal nail polish brand. Great coverage and lasts a long time. This polish is not cheap either. I haven’t tried Revlon or any other brands. I know there are tons on the market.
I have been saying it for a while now, SAMPLE sizes are the way to go with nailpolish. You can have LOTS and CHANGE your colour frequently. I know sometimes samplers are done during the holiday season but it would be nice to have this option year round.
So which brand are you using? I’d love to hear from you.
