Hair Love

I got my hair did recently. It was time. The Angels were asking me why I had two different colour hairs :) So I made my bi-annual appointment at the salon to have some higlights put in and a cut.

I didn’t ask for much to be cut off. I’ve been loving my length. I can play around with so many different hairstyles when my hair is long.

Luckily, my stylist only uses 1 highlight colour in my hair which she plays off my natural colour. This requires the least maintenance, thank god.

I can’t afford to get my hair done more than twice a year and even at that, I’m thinking of shopping around for a cheaper stylist. Know anyone? It costs a small fortune to have these locks looked after. Honestly, the stylist colours my hair in 15 minutes, cuts my hair in 10 minutes and blow dries it for 15 minutes. I spend more time waiting than getting worked on. Crazy, I tell you.

I do wish though that I could bring my stylist home with me on days when I need a blow dry. I love how they do it. Ugh – I can never get the same results.

I am always shocked by the colour once I leave the salon. It’s always so light, like I’m trying to achieve Angel # 2′s natural hair colour. Trust me, I’m not. After a week or so and a couple of washes, the colour tones down a little.

When I came home the Angels asked me why I had “white” hair and that it made me look old. Ouch! Not the look I was going for. Oh well. I guess have to wait for the re-growth and my next appointment.

That’s only 6 months away :)

I go to a friend of my brother, works out of his home, in Scarb. He spends a long time on my hair, but is still cheaper than if I went to a salon (for me). We can chat next Sun. You would LOVE him, he’s hilarious! He did hair for my wedding and was responsible for convincing my mom to get rid of her mom mullet!

Also have you checked out Fiorio Academy? It’s at Yonge and Davisville, you’ll get a student, but the stylists that supervize them are top, last time I was there Mr Fiorio himself cut my hair (he was demonstrating a technique to the student)! They told me “you realize you just got a $500 haircut?” I’ve gone to them off an on over the years and they’re great!

Joy – in 6 mths I think I’ll check out your brother’s friend. $250 per shot is just way too expensive!

No problem, he’s about half that and he’s excellent.
