I recently purchased the Conair Xtreme Instant Heat rollers from my local drugstore. They retail in Canada around $50. (Way cheaper in the States.)
I have been dying for big voluminous Hollywood curls. I can’t seem to achieve this look with my curling iron. So I wanted to try the rollers. As mentioned before, velcro rollers pull my hair out when I remove them. They work too – but I find they are too hard on my hair. So I decided to try my hand with hot rollers.
These rollers heat up instantly. No joke. I literally plug them in and before I’ve even finished blow drying my hair, the rollers are ready. There is even a white spot designed to show up once the rollers are ready.
The Conair Xtreme Instant Heat rollers come in multiple sizes and clips. The clips sit on a heating tray as well. I wish the kit came with more large rollers. The small ones leave my hair WAY TOO curly. I also wish the clips stayed put once attached. They move around my head and sometimes leave a crimped line on some hairs.
This kit is easy to use. The rollers don’t get stuck in your hair. And, it WORKS!!
The first time I used the rollers, I had nice big bouncy curls. The second time I used the kit, my hair turned out looking like a cross between Curly Sue and someone going to the Prom I don’t know why this happened.
I’m still trying to finesse my technique. Next, I plan on not rolling the curlers all the way to my scalp…I’ll leave them long. I will see if this works better. I hope it weighs the curls down.
Conair – thank you for a cheap way to create curls in your hair. These are easy to store. Easy to use. I say they’re worth it.
PS – Spray your hair with a heat protector before using. I use Tresemme Heat Tamer Spray.
