Remember a couple of Friday’s ago I was showing you beautiful photos of Easter tables? Well, I thought I’d share how my Easter went.
I hosted a dinner for 20 people. This was a sit-down dinner. I can’t believe I actually managed to fit everyone in. But I’m so pleased with how everything went. I’m especially pleased with how nice my table turned out. There’s a Martha Stewart in me somewhere
Everyone had a beautiful day. The Angels were wired on sugar. All the kids played so well while the adults indulged in wine. The centre pieces were take-aways for the guests. I treated them like a wedding gift. They served double-duty.
I truly need new linens. They are so old and spent. Like, really old. I spent a couple of hours the day before ironing my linens with starch trying to spruce them up. Yes – starch and yes – me ironing?? WTF? I don’t iron. I don’t buy starch. There’s a first for everything.
I was having flashbacks of my childhood standing at the ironing board. My mom used to make me do that as a kid and then set the table for guests. Clearly, I’ve been traumatized. No – seriously, my mom is a kick ass hostess with the mostest. She really knows how to throw a good party, cook and decorate a table. I’ve got her to thank for the early tranining
I love family time. I hope your day was just as wonderful.
