Today’s make-over may be more exciting for me than you. It has to do with my closet. Yes, this post seems personal inviting you into my closet and all – don’t worry I’m not going to be showing you my underwear I have a VERY SMALL closet. The master bedroom closet is positioned in an awkward spot.
You have to walk through my closet to get to the master bathroom. Weird right? And, totally an efficient use of space.
Only problem is that I don’t like people looking at my clothes as they walk through to the bathroom. Not that I have a ton of people parading around in my bedroom but you know what I mean.
When we moved into our house a few years ago, I had the Husband (handy-man) put up curtains on either side of the closet. One side is his and the other mine. I did this to create a boudoir like feeling. Flowing white curtains with a chandelier. It worked!
Again, space is becoming an issue, not because I have tons of clothes to contend with. As I’ve mentioned many times, I purge often. It’s just that I don’t like having to dig through MULTIPLE boxes that house all my stuff to try and find things, like shoes or scarves, belts or purses.
My bedroom dresser has been over flowing (over capacity) for years. So I decided to go out and purchase 2 Ikea bookshelves. They were inexpensive and I think have added the necessary storage I’ve been craving.
Everything is accessible. I’ve tried to pretty-it up as much as possible. I’m quite happy with the look. I can access my jewelry quick, my nail polish quick and I can actually see what shoes I own. It’s not my dream closet by any stretch. My dream closet would include a full-length mirror, a couch, a make-up station and chair. It would have walls and walls of storage. In fact, I think it could be a complete room on its own
My pictures don’t really do it justice. What’s your closet like?
