My First Bundt

All I wanted for Christmas from my parents was a bundt pan. Bizarre I know, but I’ve been dying to make a “pretty” cake. To me – the bundt makes a perfect shaped cake.

I got my wish and on Christmas morning opened my very first bundt pan.

Can I tell you? Every time I say the word “bundt” I think of the movie My Big Fat Greek Wedding. I find this funny.

I’ve been waiting for the Husband’s nana cake recipe (named after his grandmother) from my in-laws. They are out of town until spring…so I’m out of luck.

I decided to look up a simple pound cake recipe on the interweb and try out my bundt. Note: this recipe is not at all healthy!

Here’s the recipe in case you want to give it a try. It’s pretty tasty…not as good as nana cake though. It works for now! Happy Bundting :)


1 cup butter
6 eggs
3 cups sugar
3 cups all purpose flour
1 pint heavy whipping cream
1 tbsp vanilla extract
2 tsp lemon extract

Mix butter and sugar until fluffy. Add 1 egg at a time. Add flour one cup at time with cream. Add vanilla / lemon extract. Bake 1 to 1.5 hours in oven at 325 F.

Icing (I winged this part):

Icing sugar (can’t remember how much I used)
lemon juice

Melt and drizzle cake!

You did not put a flower pot in the middle !!! What’s up with that ? LOL

Its a BUNDT CAKE Google it Claudette it is supposed to have a hole in the middle.
