Another One Bites The Dust

First it was Demi and Ashton, next Heidi Klum and Seal. Now reports are surfacing saying there’s trouble in paradise for Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis. This makes me sad. Seriously! Why do Hollywood marriages always end?

Here’s my Hollywood marriage theory….THEY DON’T WORK.

Why does a Hollywood relationship fail?

For lots of reasons. For starters, generally as an actor I would imagine you have a bit of an ego, non? You are probably surrounded by “yes” men. And, you likely travel a ton. This would create havoc in any marriage. You have to be around to work at it and not be stuck up your own ass.

Second, I have always wondered how much they are acting and how much of it is real. Hear me out! Ever notice that co-stars seem to hook up? I think this happens because they “pretend” all day on set, that it is no longer “fake” and at some subconscious level “real” feelings begin to develop. How can you kiss someone, but not really kiss them? I know this isn’t true of all celebrities but I’d argue this happens to the vast majority of them.

I always laugh when reporters or gossip mags talk about how long a celebrity relationship lasts. I think you can count the years of a celebrity marriage just as you count the age of your dog. Everything is in dog years – just multiply by 7.

I truly believe that if celebrities want to have a successful marriage, they should look to the “common” folk. It’s like they only date in their circle. It’s some elite circle where very few are allowed in. This bugs me. I want in :) To clarify – not for marriage, just for good gossip!

Finally, why bother getting married. I get it – a bunch of good looking people hooking up and having fun. I say go for it! Just don’t get married.

Simply Yours,

Great points and I totally agree, play your roless on and off the screen but stop disappointing marriage and us! We get it. You are shallow ponds. Your surface changes every time the wind blows. Stop believing your own press when it’s telling you the fairy tale ending is for you again and again and oh yes again.
