About a year ago, 5 couples decided to plan a vacation together without kids. Do you know how hard it is to co-ordinate 5 family schedules, get babysitting and all agree on the same destination spot?
Actually – surprisingly not that hard at all! Special thanks to P & L who really made this happen.
We’ve successfully planned a trip with 4 other couples that begins at the end of the week. I can’t say we didn’t get a bit disappointed when our original destination (Secrets, Punta Cana) closed. Okay – a lot – disappointed. But things always happen for a reason – or so I tell myself.
Where are we going, you ask (or maybe you don’t care)?
We leave on the weekend to stay at Secrets, Wild Orchid in Montego Bay, Jamaica for 7 glorious fun-filled days.
I plan on staying up late. Sleeping in. Drinking my face off. Laughing until my stomach hurts. Swimming. Doing Yoga. Most importantly I plan on falling in love with The Husband again.
I once heard a woman say, “You should take a one week vacation away from the kids at least once a year. This is the time when you actually like your husband and get to remember why you married him in the first place.” Apparently the effect from this carries forward for an entire year.
Funny, non? And, so very true!
It’s hard for parents to get away without kids. It’s a big deal. And, I plan on making it one.
