DIY Week: Day 3

I‘m always looking for the latest and craziest ways to treat my skin. I wish I could afford regular facials. Nothing beats getting the face massaged, steamed and cleaned.

I came across this great article that gives you 9 things you can use in your kitchen to give yourself a facial.

I’ve tried one of them already…oatmeal.

Bananas – mash it up and smooth over your face. Wait 15 minutes and rinse. Apparently this leaves the face feeling nice and soft. I think I’d prefer to eat the bananas.

Vinegar – have you ever tried using vinegar as a skin toner? Mix apple cider vinegar with water. Rinse face. This will cleanse and tighten your skin.

Milk – mix powdered milk and water. Smear on face and then drink afterwards. Just kiddin’ :)

Mayonnaise – Smear on face and let sit. Rinse and enjoy clean and cool skin.

Yogurt – apply to face and let sit for 20 minutes. This will tighten your pores and cleanse the skin. I’m all about tightening the pores.

Mustard – same as above – not feeling this one. Sounds like face burn!

Lemon – mix lemon juice with olive oil. Apply to face and exfoliate.

Egg – whisk eggs and apply to face. This will leave you looking nice and fresh. Don’t forget to rinse.

So there you have it. Give them a try. I’d love to hear from you!

PS – I still want the Clarisonic.
