Friday Favourites – DIY: Hallowe’en Nails

I‘ve mentioned this before and I will say it again. I am obsessed with nail polish and anything to do with nails.

Remember when I told you I was going to be a ladybug for Hallowe’en? Click here for a refresher. Anyhow, I thought it would be fun to play around with my nails and make them Hallowe’en ready too! I know, I know. There are far more productive things I can do with my time, but really – who cares. This is fun.

I present you with LadyBUG hands. Aren’t they cute and playful?

# 1 – Pick your colours, remove any existing nail polish, and grab a tool to decorate with. I’m using a shish-kabob stick for decorating. Get creative.

# 2 – Add a base coat or primer to your nails. I’m using Sally Hansen Nail Hardening Polish. Double duty – base coat & hardens my nails.

# 3 – Paint your nails (2 coats) with your base colour. I’m using OPI‘s Chick Flick Cherry.

# 4 – Let your nails dry completely before moving on to step # 5. It’s best to leave it a day or a few hours. If you are impatient like me, you can always whip out the hairdryer. Works like a charm!

# 5 – Grab stick and dip the end into a secondary colour. I’m using OPI‘s Lincoln Park After Dark. This colour is still a staple in my nail polish collection. Gently dab spots on your nails, adding as many or as little as you like.

# 6 – Voila! Fun Hallowe’en nails to compliment my costume. I think the Angels are really going to like this idea.
